Dakal was formed in the late 80’s. It started off as a small Sole Trading company, then became a limited company in 1994.  It started out specialising in supplying cable accessories, cable glands and associated cable management products.

The customer base was and continues to be, the electrical wholesale trade.  Developing quickly, Dakal found the need to diversify into supplying lighting accessories – e.g. chokes, starters and ballasts.  This led onto supplying complete lighting units and Dakal is now a recognised and popular supplier within the industry.

Following a change of ownership in 2001, we have continued to develop our product range which now includes a diverse choice of industrial and commercial lighting products. The demand for LG7 compliant luminaires has become an important requirement throughout the lighting industry and  these continue to feature prominently in our range. We are sensitive to the changing requirements within the industry and are pleased to introduce both LED and Induction technology options which are already proving to be very popular.

Our lighting design service continues to be a valuable asset which many end users, contractors and wholesalers utilise.  With the introduction of the CIBSE Lighting Guide LG7, the lighting of office spaces in particular has become more complex.  We are able to produce computer aided plots to reassure the client the specification is being met effectively and provide detailed data sheets to illustrate the equipment being used.
